I love getting my hair cut. I guess what I really love is that for an hour or two I can’t do anything but read a magazine and chat with my awesome stylist. Of course, getting the shampoo/scalp massage is pretty awesome too! I don’t know that kids feel the same way about haircuts, typically. This is where Cookie Cutters for Kids comes in.
My friend’s daughter, Ellie, was due for a haircut, I asked if she’d try out Cookie Cutters so that I could check them out. A salon made just for kids? She was up for it! The ladies working that day were very welcoming when we walked in and took care of us right away. My friend, Kimberly, was introduced to her daughter’s stylist who listened carefully to her requests. Ellie is 7 so the adorable car themed seats were a little young for her. Luckily, they have a “big kid” chair that worked out perfectly.
The little car seats were perfect for Brantley, a cute little boy who wasn’t worried at all about his haircut! In fact, he seemed to be enjoying himself; sitting in his car and watching a kid’s show on the individual screen in front of him. Talk about taking the angst out of a sometimes-challenging experience. The stylists were great at making the kids feel comfortable.
Every haircut gets a little something special at Cookie Cutters;
* Girls receive their haircut, a braid or pony tail (if they want it), hair ribbon and glitter! Where were you when I was a kid?!
* Boys get their haircut, a faux-hawk or a pompadour and colored gel! How cute is that?!
* Every child (even siblings not getting a cut), will get a balloon and lollipop. Did I mention the indoor playset? Siblings can play while their brother or sister get the royal treatment!
They offer a variety of hair styling services for children AND they do ear piercing, so stop in or call ahead.
