Are You Ready for Summer?!

5 Tips to Prepare Quickly!

By Michele Pullo, publisher of Macaroni Kid Longmont-Frederick-Niwot-Lyons May 17, 2018

What to plan for when school is out next week!

1. Summer Camps- if you haven't yet, book your summer camps.  Many are already full so use our 2018 Macaroni Kid Longmont/Boulder Summer Camp & Activities Guide to find the best options for your family.

2. Create a plan to manage electronics overload for your kids. Try our MK Summer Mornings Chart or create your own version!

3.  Plan for healthy snacks!  When you go shopping next, think about what they'll grab for if it's there and ready to go?  Cut up fruit (you can cut it ahead of time), cheese chunks, nuts, rolled up turkey?

4.  Buy sunscreen and lots of it!  At our house, sunscreen is like those mysterious missing socks, I can never find them when I need them.  Buy one for your car, your backyard, and your purse.. you get the idea.

5.  Plan to take care of yourself this summer too by booking a pilates class, yoga, a pedicure or tea (or wine) with a friend.  I mean really plan it.  Schedule your partner, a family member or a friend to help out with the kids for a few hours one evening, and put it on your calendar!  This is especially important if you're home with the kids all summer.  Sanity is an important "quality".  ; )
