Youth Summer Camps Available at High Altitude Archery

By High Altitude Archery February 10, 2023

Join High Altitude Archery for summer day camps where you will learn what it takes to be an expert archer. Train using the same techniques that Olympic archers use, while playing archery games. Learn range safety, shooting form, scoring, and more while making lasting friendships.

Camps are 1 week in length, from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm at our indoor facility in Longmont. Taught by USA Archery certified instructors and coaches.

Students in the archery skills camp will learn and practice consistency and accuracy. At the same time, students will be taught basic body mechanics, and strengthening exercises designed to strengthen core, upper body and back muscles in support of archery.

Concepts common in archery competition will be practiced. Students will learn how to respond correctly to competition range commands, to score correctly, and to behave with grace and sportsmanship on the shooting line.

At the completion of this class, shooters have the necessary skills to join the JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) competition team.

Games Played:

  • Archery Bowling
  • Archery Tag (official)
  • Variety of skills games

Topics of Instruction:

  • Balance and posture
