The City of Longmont is excited to announce the launch of RIDE Longmont, a new on-demand public transit option that will hit the streets on Monday, Dec 9.
RIDE Longmont offers cheap and reliable rides to just about anywhere in Longmont. The service is super easy to use and is available to everyone, although people younger than 13 years must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals can request a ride through the app (found in most app stores) or by calling 970-538-9097 (which can accommodate most language preferences).
RIDE Longmont will provide service anywhere within Longmont, Mondays through Saturdays, 6 am – 8pm and Sundays, 9 am – 5 pm. There is also service to and from the new mobility hub at I-25/CO 119 which is served by Bustang. Additionally, during the month of December only, service hours will be extended to midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and New Years eve.
Each ride will cost just $2! Students, seniors, and those with disabilities can ride for just $1per trip.
All rides will be FREE through Jan 9, 2025!
Scheduling and taking a ride using the app, is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
- Download the RIDE Longmont app (Android and iOS) and create an account.
- Enter pickup and drop-off addresses and then select the ride option that works best. Riders can specify if they will need accommodations for a bicycle or wheelchair.

All RIDE Longmont vehicles are black with green highlights and white RIDE Longmont logos.
“This service is a game-changer for those who need a more direct, affordable option to get around the city” said Phil Greenwald, Longmont’s Transportation Planning Manager. “It’s a great new option to access the existing transit system, getting to appointments, meeting up with friends at a local restaurant, doing some shopping, or getting to school and work.”
RIDE Longmont is provided through a partnership between the City of Longmont, Via Transportation, Inc., and the Regional Transportation District (RTD). Note that RIDE Longmont is not affiliated with Via Mobility Services, a nonprofit organization that offers transportation to individuals with mobility limitations.
